Allow Poem by Sophocles

Allow

Allow me to be the candle,
That holds high your flame of love.
The sudden quickness in your step,
After we dance the dance of love.
Let me be the garden,
From which your flowers grow.
Or the forces that simply listens,
As you tell what you know.
Allow me to be the tickle,
That bring forth your smile.
Let others gaze upon us,
And know of our style.
The things that cause you to fear,
Let me wash them away.
Allow me to be that
Which makes your day.

stand
I Stand
Tall like great red woods,
I Stand!
Firm like the gripping roots of oaks,
I'm planted.
In the dawn of education in the city of Tinbuktu,
My Stand Reign!
Along the mighty riverbanks of the Nile and Euphrates,
I Did Stand!
With all the great nations of the times,
I Stand!
I'm in Egypt, Mecca, Portugal, France, Ethiopia and the Americas,
I Stand!
I stand with you, strong but unseen.
You delight in my entertainment,
Yes I Stand!
You expond on my political views,
Yes I Stand!
You adopt my philosophical views; yet some of you bond me,
Yet Still I Stand!!
Come look at the past and present,
Know Of My Stand!!!
Come dream and search out the future,
There Too You Will Find "I Stand!!"
