Kisi ko bhi doosray se
nahin poocHna chahihay
"kya soch rahi -rahay- thay tum? "
koi bhi, haan koi bhi
jo bhootkaal ya is k bashindoN ko
ab sun-na nahin chahta hai
ya vartmaan k ajeeb akelay-pan ko,
haalan k vo baDay mazay ka hai,
us ko ab bhool jaana chahta hai
ya vo khyaal jo us k zehan main hai
jahan bvish kaal main vo kisi k badn pe
kisi aur ka sar dekhna chahta hai.
lakin kuch log eemaan daari chahtay hain.
jab vo apnay private ghar ki chaabi kho baithay hain
ghar ko toD kar unain andar jaana nahin chahihay,
aur na hi chahihay k koi begaana dekh ley
kya sambhal kar ghar main unon ne rakha hai.

After Making Love
by Stephen Dunn
No one should ask the other
"What were you thinking? "
No one, that is,
who doesn't want to hear about the past
and its inhabitants,
or the strange loneliness of the present
filled, even as it may be, with pleasure,
or those snapshots
of the future, different heads
on different bodies.
Some people actually desire honesty.
They must never have broken
into their own solitary houses
after having misplaced the key,
never seen with an intruder's eyes
what is theirs.
