A Prayer For The 21st Century Poem by Ruth Gordon

i hope one day that the 21st century
wont be remembered for insanity
that all the wars and desecration
wont be part of horror creation

i hope that we learn from our mistakes
like a cook that learns to bake
that too much or too little sugar
can lead to another war

i hope we learn to love the flaw
and survive them all
perhaps someday we can eachother love
not just different concepts of the one above

I hope that we can learn to fear
not just the stranger with the gear
but the harm were doing to us all
the plants and animals will watch us fall

Instead of so much panic and tension
and worrying about reputation
we should be helping out those around us
and finally learning the art of trust
