A Poem In America Poem by Lasaad Tayeb

A Poem In America

Rating: 5.0

Every state is a verse, and America is a poem.

Can we still seek a ray of hope in the middle of vast gloom?
This burden of anguish we bear is a sea we must inflame.
In this country, a poem remains as a pert momentum.
That talent stamping guide just to prevent factionalism.

She's hidden in a huge hole, which isn't a common vacuum.
Walking beachside as the shoreline shutter into flame
As flew up from the beach, seabirds gained in abruptness.
Exploring a world free of air and seeing in colorless.
The sand grains become dissimilar as the scents disappear.

I didn't aim to imply that you'd be simple to substitute.
It was mispronounced lights will be sold outside the province.
The only gunfight on the edge of state highway took place.
In your death note, wrote on how to settle in at quicker pace.
Have you ever felt you're lost in the shuffle in Washington?

To sum up, how can you leave an impact on the audience?
No one likes to admit that saying no has no rhyme or sword
Instead, there's a crowd of bees rattling around in my mouth.
If you've made your will, you must coalesce your gratitude.
Just teach me how to survive without using consoling life.

We wish to reshape an alliance with well-defined concepts.
World where all citizens, many-hued, are treated as equals.
We do not dwell on what separates us or what affects us
If we can rebound, we must calm down and cut back guns.

And put our lucid future to rule in the name of justice.
We move out for no man's property and for no one's profit.
It is fair to believe that this universe is spherical.
And even if we were all weeping, we all will endure growth.
That we will intertwine our fates for eternal triumph.
And we will never, ever melt to sow fright and division.

We are what we wage and what we design and build together.
Allow history to rise and rule, or ply it for the best.
We've found it has the power to split rather than unite us.
Tyranny can never defeat or remove our freedom.
This is how we have always recognized, and we always will.

What we do now has an impact on what we will do later.
We only have no way of losing; our only chance is to win.
To build a lucid future and yield others a ray of hope.
Will we expect to come out of disaster victorious?
The future epoch will savor the fineness of acrid work

I can certainly see why this was a 1st Place contest winner, Lasaad. It is so powerful, touching and eloquent. The last verse says it all.

Very profound poem. I liked it and I quote 'What we do now has an impact on what we will do later.' 5***
