A New Dawn For Orissa Afterthe Dance Of Death Poem by Rimni chakravarty

A New Dawn For Orissa Afterthe Dance Of Death

Fani the name is enough for all to visualize the dance of death
At a speed of 180 km per hour speed Fani to reach the coastal belt of Orissa, the state of Lord Jagannath
Blow and blow and blow hard as hard could Fani
To bang all who come on the way and smash all to pieces
One may say it is the dance of death,
While others say it was in our fate
Fani however made news with its majestic roaring laughter
With its gigantic steps and motion to cause havoc here after
Glued on the television set I saw how a moving bus turns upside down
I saw Fani's frown
There in the streets where the trees toppled one after the other
Where the mobile tower made its huge fall
Where the shade of a railway station flew long distance further
It all happened in God's kingdom
But did He not see what's happening to His creation?
He did. Or why Fani lost its speed and as it entered West Bengal it lost its energy
Jagannath sent for the rains to pour down from the sky
So He could see His dear birds fly
After resting for a while
The birds are His favourite as they sing from early dawn to make Him smile.
The sun has smiled to indicate the Lord's blessings on His creation
It is Time for a celebration
And admit the beauty in the beast which lord Jagannath revealed
God gives chance to both the good and the evil to express
Fani too mysterious, bold as also beautiful showed its grace
By paying obeisance to the Lord and the Goddess Shakti where he stopped his rage
Orissa has been ruined but amidst destruction arise a new beginning
Orissa will again sing
