Jessica Jemima Poems

You are growing old,
And your mind is aging too.
Your eyes are nearly closed,
And your moves are slowing, slowing...
...

so
i have to write a poem, is that it?
well
i don't know how to start
...

hullo
said the old man
in the hat
i wonder why he wore a hat
...

It's an inviting place
An enticing place
An advertising place
An anything place
...

I sit and listen
but I don't just listen
I absorb the ideas that envelope my sense of vision
a phenomenon
...

I'm sitting here, wishing I was anywhere but here
One thought rings in my head, I hear it loud and clear

I hate the world I hate everything in it
...

I've tried to fight you
I've tried to stand tall
But I cannot avoid you
I crawl or I fall
...

I dread a blank page
An undisturbed lake that swirls below
Rich activity and yet none of it surfaces
It stays invisible, I can't get to it
...

12.

This poem
Is for
Those people
Who like
...

A favourite song of mine
I've known for quite a while
I talk about you all the time
My friends they nod and smile
...

Today - it was filled with sorrow
But that's why I'm glad for tomorrow
I'll end the fight
And make it all right
...

Who will be my valentine?
And steal this stubborn heart of mine?
Who will be my valentine?
A rose or two? Well that's just fine.
...

I could never live without it
It's wonderful I don't doubt it
So what if it rots my brain
And drives my mum insane
...

Yes
No
Maybe
Never
...

Jessica Jemima Biography

I'm 16; I live in Australia; I'm a Christian; I like to think I'm really creative. I love this site! It's a great way to share poetry with people who are interested in the same thing - and a great way to get 'constructive critisism'. [I really appreciate comments! ! ] I write about anything, really. Mostly my feelings and experiences. Sometimes, if I feel like it, I'll write something funny that has nothing to do with my life. My encouragement goes to all those girls [my age] who wanna write what THEY think. You know you're talented, so.. WRITE!)

Whale Dance

You are growing old,
And your mind is aging too.
Your eyes are nearly closed,
And your moves are slowing, slowing...

But I still see the beauty
every time you show your dance,
For the ocean,
vast and blue.

I see the history of the world
in every twirl or dive,
It's there - almost gone -
fading, fading...

You seem to know the world,
All emotions and their ways,
For I see it in your dance,
For the ocean,
vast and blue.

So show it,
One more time, your dance,
For the ocean,
vast and blue.
