The night holds me captive
A torment of eluding sleep
I dream of a peaceful respite
But dreams can be deceptive

What is this sensation welling inside
A vague familiarity tantalizing
Suggests a light shining with pride
I’ve known it before, the bell does ring

I drew his name
In lipstick on my mirror
Then left a kiss print
