Zamora O' Zamora - Poem For Spain

Zamora O Zamora,
which way shall I walk
as every where are castles and cathedrals
as every side is enchantment;
so huge are those walls
so majestic are those arches
those gates, those doors,
how will my curiosity ever cease
how will my eyes not wonder
as my feet keep walking on and on
to search for more and more of you.
Zamora O' Zamora,
I wish I had lived here thro' those years
so that I could tell many your story
of your castles and cathedrals.
Who might have strolled here,
who might have loved here
who might have made promises by the River Duero
all these my ears would want to hear and know.
How in silence Castillo de Zamora now stands
perhaps grieving, cherishing it's past
when church bells would ring
and horses on those cobbled streets
would bring back their masters
from conquests and adventures perhaps.
Zamora O' Zamora,
watch how the summer sunlight
keeps depicting the loneliness you feel
yet, sturdy and strong is thy grace.
Zamora O' Zamora,
from far and near
on this earth you will forever
behold your magnificence
and eyes will always
want to see you again and again.
