Just because I'm so hard up
For someone to share time,
Doesn't mean you have to up
And give me a hard time.
I know I do not have a choice
But hear you grouse and gripe.
There's always time for being nice,
But for that it's never ripe.
Just because I need a challenge
Unless it be a myth,
Doesn't mean you have to be
So hard to get along with.
I cannot accuse you of bad words behind my back,
Since that degree of courtesy
You desperately lack.
You call our fair city
Worst place you ever did frequent
No place can ever be unflawed
With you a resident.
You say you do not like said actor, singer, athlete.
The only folks that you don't like
Stand under thirteen feet.
"Misery loves company."
If that's true, of course;
He who does love misery
Would get a thrill from yours.
I know it's odd, but I more treasure
Those whose presence gives me pleasure.
