When The New Year Comes Poem by Bernard F. Asuncion

When The New Year Comes

On new year's eve before cockcrow,
I will just count many blessings;
The graces come from the Father
Who showers such terrific things.

On new year's dawn after twilight,
I'll pray to God for His guidance;
I will thank the Lord Almighty
For giving me another chance.

On new year's day after midnight,
I'll watch in awe the fireworks show;
To savor the display of lights,
As the moment does come and go.

On new year's morn before sunrise,
I'll let zephyr softly whisper;
To touch my face with gentle wind,
For me to taste the fair weather.

Twenty twenty may have blurred view,
But I will up both of my thumbs;
I will just leave the past behind,
Say hello when the new year comes.
