When the night comes knocking tirelessly,

When the day opens our eyes widely,

When the sun shines on our necks irresistibly,

When the moon and the stars illuminate our pots of soup in jollity,

When the crying children in our midst find solace in the warmth of our hearts,

When the prisoners have good food to eat while in jail,

When the language we speak becomes the language of justice, peace, equality & tolerance,

When in the sky of bounty there is no more cloud of poverty,

When mutual respect is accorded to both the boys and the girls,

When children respect their parents— be they rich or poor,

When ‘I' is replaced by ‘we, '

When illness becomes wellness,

When brightness allows darkness to thrive in our society,

When salary is to the worker being paid on time by the employer,

When adequate care to every patient is given by every healthcare professional without discrimination,

When security in the land is allowed to reign without subjugation,

When marriage is regarded as highly as
a unifying institution,

When light becomes constant in every city and community around the globe,

When this poesy is to be birthed by the forthcoming generations,

When the period of social distancing has been forgotten,

When we talk about evolution and uphold our common identity known as humanity,

Then everything will be aright.
