We Were Lost Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

In our pursuit for the magic of technology
We gathered the tools of science and technology
And mapped a new path for the human race
We departed on a long journey
Far away from our ancient spiritual path
Far away from each other
We came across a lot of knowledge
And created beautiful gadgets
Many became rich
We were on the path of prosperity
With our beautiful selfies
Plastered all over the world
Our egos were inflated
For a while we were untouchable
Then came coronavirus
From a small seed of human error
Or may be human negligence
Or even human suffering
We found ourselves face to face with a new reality
Regardless of our technological knowhow
We are not as invincible as we thought
We are still full of fear
We are still spiritual beings
And we were very lost
It's now time to reflect
And may be go back to our spiritual path
It's now time to open the book of hope, faith and Love
And undress our hearts
As we address our inner selves
And counsel each other
We shall have no fear
And our path shall be renewed
Our hearts shall be strengthened
And our hope shall be strong
And our faith shall be awakened
And our Love shall reign
