Void Poem by Ajit Das

Void

Outside, the night thickens
its wall of silence,
dissolving all echoes of sound.

Inside, the lamp burns,
throwing a ring of light
on the desk littered with pages
of days obliterated by age.

And behind the arc
swivels the lidless stare
of the encroaching dark.
