Virginity Is No Virtue Poem by Adams King

Virginity Is No Virtue

Why hang yourself with a religious rope
Placing yourself on a sacred throne
You're no different from the rest i know
Just because no man thread your road

You held high your heads with great pride
Considering others, women of the wild
Scared to make the narrow way wide
A lamp beneath the basket you hide

Why save your kiss for the last dance
Why keep perfection for an imperfect man
Why starve yourself of youthful romance
Thinking virginity attracts a better man

Why keep the hard coconut unbroken
Saving for heaven things made by heaven
I fail to accept virginity is a better virtue
Only a fool keeps what she will someday lose

Remember there is no marriage in paradise
Here on earth ends our romantic life
I fail to accept your commandment of lies
That virginity is a commodity of great price

Listen virgins, mother Mary has been sought
There is no another Christ to be born
Why let yourself to such idea be bought
That virginity to the world means a lot
