Unexpected Treasures Poem by L MILTON HANKINS

Unexpected Treasures

Unexpected they come to brighten our day
Treasures unsolicited, but welcome, nonetheless,
Igniting again the sparkle in our drooping eyes
From whence they come no one can tell, or
Predict how long they will grace the happy heart
These sudden bursts of good things, good news,
Good moments--rather rare, and never in a single
Day, I think, while by some coincidence they might
And blessed be such an extraordinary occurrence
In pairs--elusive joy and unexpected pleasure.
