Don't ask what rage does to war,
don't ask what war does to rage
as all innocence and peace is cast asunder
all lives and people are cast in inhumanity and plunder
all cities and towns are cast in gloom and blunder.

Where will those foot steps now lead?
where will those minds now venture?
when will those explosions stop?
when will those enemies halt
as everywhere are deaths and explosions
as everywhere is debris and destruction.

Was it worth the fight-back
was it worth the retaliation
when so many people had to lose their lives
when so many people had to flee their country
when so many families had to bear the brunt
when so many had to run and hide
when so many had to escape yet die
when so many got shot or massacred?

O world answer these questions
- was honor of a country
more important than its citizens?
Was war more important than peace?
Was a peaceful accord not the solution?
Is today of mourning and regrets
going to help revive the lost yesterday?

Or can the past glory of a country
be regained by sanctions on an enemy country?
Or will both countries forever have to face vengeance
and sudden episodes of revenge in their future?
How will generations ever forgive and forget
the mercilessness they had to helplessly confront?
how will they wake up without bad memories of a war?

How will they overlook or forgive the brutalities of war
when they have lost their homes, their families,
their brothers and sisters and their peace to it?
Will their own country or World Organizations
ever be able to restore their lost serenity and unity?
