To Purify Us
Fire is powerful.
A blazing fire,
can purify
the precious
metal gold.
When heated
to a liquid state,
the impurities
rise to the surface
for easy removal.
Fire consumes.
When a blazing fire
completes its burning,
it leaves only ashes.
Fire is an image
of purification.
God wants to
set fire
within our souls
to purify and
make us his own.
