To My Children From An Immigrant Father (Self-Written Epitaph) Poem by Wei Chao

To My Children From An Immigrant Father (Self-Written Epitaph)

After I die, think of me, think these three:
I did fulfill my father's legacy,
'Give best educational chances to thee, '
Thou take it as thou're on delegacy.

My mum gave me unconditional love;
She urged me, 'do the same to your own kids.'
I too shed light as the moon high above,
From above, 'thou shed love to my grandkids.'

I was asked... I too keep our tradition;
Of my own legacy... what can I do?
To our good tradition … what addition?
Let's live and pursue happiness … my due.

Canada, I'm a pioneer, liberty,
Rule of law, land of opportunity.
