To Mayank Pratap Singh Poem by Prem Nizar Hameed

To Mayank Pratap Singh

Mayank Pratap Singh, my beloved compatriot
A big salute from the bottom of my heart;
Your disciplined life helped crack the examination
And you became the youngest judge in our nation;
Now begins your journey to realize the oath you take,
Keeping one of the pillars of democracy in high-peak

Parliamentary democracy is often susceptible to politricks
Recurring defection and horse trading are its substandard tricks;
And the common people alias helpless voters get
Tossed up and down during such lucrative bet;
As you said: "A judge should be impartial and show integrity,
People knocking at the door of law must get justice" what a clarity!

So your first public statement itself is a shining proof of jurisprudence
Indian Republic has been nourishing incessantly since independence;
Notwithstanding the pros and cons of certain verdicts may seem to be unclear,
Gate way of Indian Judiciary is the last resort for all citizens to cheer;
Here is your slogan for repeating like holy hymn: "SATYAMEVA JAYATE"

(Acrostic Poem. The first letter of each line spells out MAYANK PRATAP SINGH)
