To Lacey Poem by Adrian Max Rodman

To Lacey

People gaze with fear and worry
At the almost nefarious assumption
But the way you don't jump to conclusions
And look before you leap
You're cute; I have to admit
If I have to wait to date you I will

This seems fallacious, but what love doesn't?
It feels natural and not malicious
To be honest, I'm not used to that
I don't know what to say
This tradition seems timeless, but wrong
I should love someone my age
