To Have A Worrying Mind... Poem by Sebastian Melmoth

To Have A Worrying Mind...

Reading too much into things
Seeing things that are not there
Conversations in your mind the playhouse in your head.
Scenarios reeling
Gut reaction gathers traction
My worrying mind is a frail old man walking on hot coals
Did I remember to do something? Or did I forget?
Worry about anything, humans, animals, what's for tea? did I need a pee?
Building like a volcano about to erupt
Stepping back, telling myself to stop this clatter
Thinking why I am in a state, was it all that important, why does it matter?
To have a worrying mind take a deep breath of normality,
Calm the storm calm the insanity
