To Granny! Poem by Siyabonga A Nxumalo

To Granny!

Rating: 5.0

Hours passed by,
Days quickly ran by,
Weeks waved their goodbyes in a hurry,
Months slowly went by, smilling and fading away.
Years hugged you, gave you your joys and pains.
Tears and laughter ceased,
Your joy is when your eyes are closed
And your mind is at rest.....
When darkness patrols the earth...

Beautiful movement of hours, days, weeks, month, year and life is pictured here so rhythmically. Nice theme..

This is very moving, I live with a granny and we both know her mind will be at rest soon. Joys and Pains she goes through but soon she knows her pain will be no more. Love this poem, thank you.
