To Drink At Night In Riverside Poem by Kinsley Lee

To Drink At Night In Riverside

Leaves turn a deeper shade of green
As the wind whispers thru stirring them gently,
In the water where many flowers have fallen,
Myriad fragrances dissolve quietly.

The road in riverside is crowded with cars,
Each emitting and echoing its own sound as they rush by,
And the waves ripple one after another in river,
And quietly and leisurely the carps swim to ply.

On far away island, in the thickets
Countless insects are chirping and competing
While on this side of the sandy bank,
A lonely heron stands in the reeds, is bawling

Who should I envy? Riverside and hillside,
The happiness of just a bottle of makgeolli,
For the night view becomes a delightful appetizer,
As the tipsy moon runs and dances gracefully.
