To DownTown Downwards….
Or The New Poverty….Really?
through the noisy streets
downtown downwards
I am walking again
looking for what?
all in vain
the shopkeepers
welcoming as for a queen
deep within greatest pity for them
most of them have gone failliet
since the 11th of May
they may sell
this may be a hell
for them
since who wants to buy?
the government's greatest lie
the correct amount was promised
so they need not to worry
when they start selling again
not really honest
our tax-money
is treated
while walking downtown to downwards
my mind are still at the shopkeepers....

An astute observation and thought provoking poem. The great Poetess concern for these shopkeepers and traders is indeed commendable. A thoughtful write well conveyed
Lockdown due to pandemic has affected many businesses. Some of them have been bankrupt and governments gave them support to alleviate their plight. Yet, sometimes businessmen are at quandary where are these support that these governments had promised.
I thought that our Prime Minister Mark Rutte keeps his promise when each shopkeeper gets back his/her lost money because of the covid quarantaine. These shopkeepers, traders get back their lost money but not enough!

" The correct amount was promised so they need not to worry.' Every street was closed due to lock-down in noisy streets. After lock-down streets are opened up and sellers and shopkeepers have opened up shops and selling their products. All are trying to counter the new poverty. While walking downtown to downwards, you have amazingly noticed the happy shopkeepers. An excellent poem is well penned....10
