To die before death
is a great tragedy
greater even than death itself
a life not fulfilled
one of mediocrity
wasted potential
swimming in comfort
lap after tiring lap
with no real purpose
no question to ask
nor answer to be had
just the blind acceptance
of a dead reality
to die of circumstance
surely merits much grief
but to die before death
is the greatest tragedy
for a life not fulfilled
is the saddest life
you could possibly live
