The word of God and the rain.
Rain and snow make life
possible because without
them there is no bread to eat.

Rain falls to earth to give life.
It is sent to effect what God wills.

It sets something in motion,
just as irrigation sets
food production in motion.

So also:
The Word of God is
sent out with a purpose,
the same purpose that
the bread is made for:
to secure life.

According to the conviction
of the Bible, this word
comes to people in God's
instructions, the Torah,
but also through his
prophets and when people
let their conscience speak
when they perceive in
their environment that
life is being diminished.

God's word
and the rain has
a purpose to fulfill.
