The Wind's Counsel Poem by Gaurav Mittal

The Wind's Counsel

Have you ever sat beneath
The virgin azure skies -
A few white clouds here and there;
And having closed your eyes,
Listened - very closely -
To what the Wind had to say?

I did once, and I do
Often remember that day:
There in the midst of flowers,
On the soft, green grass I lay;
Lay beneath all those stars,
Passing countless hours,
Finding constellations
Which were so far away.
The Wind breezed through the trees,
And made the myriad leaves sway.
The Wind caressed my skin,
And gently flowed through my hair.
And ever so softly,
To me it whispered -
'You are a free man friend;
For that be grateful, and pray'.
