The Story Of "I" Poem by Dillian Hansen

The Story Of "I"

Rating: 5.0

Reminded almost hourly I.
I am the only Christmas enthusiast.
Warmth I insist, tainted I.
I won't shrink or assist.
Remembering the original I.
I want what I thought.
Christmas joyous was taught, I.
I will except to it.
Determined with my full ambition I.
I like the one who gifts all in the night.
Powered by love, cookies, and milk I.
I will distill onto others,
as others have done onto I.
I encourage the warmth of Christmas Spirit.
For reminded by others the Christmas Spirit,
Is I.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
My mother keeps telling me I'm the only one in this house with Christmas Spirit this year. This conversation usually come up after she lets other people know how bare minimum we will even be doing Christmas this year because "this year just doesn't feel like Christmas". Spiteful only in the slightest be it she decides this on here own. I recall the last three Christmases "not feeling like Christmas." Then I remember, last year I wanted to put up the tree, in turn getting shutdown by my whole family (: P I put it up anyways)this year I blast Christmas music through the house happily loudly singing along. We will regain the spirit yet, I'm sure of it.

Lovely family which, despite their reservations, allows a junior member to have his kind of Christmas anyway. I love this poem and appreciate the Poet's Notes. Thanks, Dillian.
