The Spider Behind The Television Poem by Paula Glynn

The Spider Behind The Television

There is a spider behind the TV,
He is a big boy,
And scares even me,
But he is also a friend,
Crawling on my hand,
And keeping me company,
When I'm alone,
In the living room,
For he loves walking across the room,
And he has built a big web,
Ready to catch food,
For bugs to him,
Are like a juicy steak to us,
And he stays happily,
Behind the television,
Coming out sometimes,
Just to say hello,
For he is my spider behind the television,
Where he is left to his own devices,
And shall live a long life,
Being the friendly spider he is.

My spider has amazing senses:
He can jump and feel the air,
He knows when you're near,
He knows when you're far away,
But he always knows you're there,
He will crawl on your hand,
He will build his web,
A true work of art,
For my spider is mysterious,
He is unique and wonderful,
And too precious to be caged.
