The Seed Poem by LINET SABASTIAN

The Seed

I sow a seed
The land was fertile and well cultivated
The soil looked rich and good
The weather looked favourable
The rain was sufficient
And the season right
I waited and waited for it to germinate
But it never germinated.

I was sad and discouraged
I had put so much energy into it
So did I spend so much time.

Why when all seemed so right
I looked forward to a good harvest
Maybe I did not choose the right seed
Maybe it was going to grow into thorns
And not the beautiful flowers i expected.

Sad with wet eyes and a heavy heart I had to take it
I wiped my tears and prepared for the next season.

this is a symbolic poem on expectations in life which did not come true. but your last lines denote that you are not frustrated and with determinations you are going to plant again.... soooooo nice. thank you
