The Sasha Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

The Sasha

Rating: 5.0

Sasha

Subway, me and bus ride?
It is rare, just in times!

I took my Presto
Not so sure that it works.

Got on bus
Looked around
Took steps went forward.

Full were sits for masters,
For elders, sick, patients
All taken by the youths
Who sat and did not care!

Those in seats near door
Mostly wore earphones
Were blind to the world.

Suddenly young blonde
Looked at me in a sign
Asking me to sit down.

I thanked her with smile.

She had seen my eyes roll
Look around, scroll…

In her mind: "Be polite
Offer seat, stand up…"

Gray hair was its cause.

Finally, after time
We, seated, side by side
I questioned: "Background? "

Was Russian where still
Respect has some meaning;
Carelessness, Selfishness,
Can be there, but much less.

“… where still Respect has some meaning” Powerful words, precise observation. The “now” culture has mainly forgotten or rejected the concept of respect. The modern world, the civilized world, has become populated with people who only think of their own selves as the most important components of their world.

Thanks a lot and yes...still...it is the social character and care for each other that keep us together and create love, which end in protection for all, instead of a few.
