The Quest For Perfection Poem by Kiran Pillai

The Quest For Perfection

What is perfect? Is there a perfect concept?
I know that the man made world is not.
Our roads and transportation is not perfect.
Maybe the airline system is close. Not yet.

Is the school and education system perfect?
The models made years ago fails to perform now.
Is the hospital and pharma system perfect?
More illness and disease grows daily these years.

I know that my body and mind is not perfect.
Especially when the body needs to be this or that.
My mind has to respect the man made limits
Each limit made by man pushes imperfection further.

Is the religion that governs our morals perfect?
Every philosophy seems to have their own loopholes.
Is Art perfect? Is Science perfect? Am I perfect?
Effort to make something perfect also is imperfect.

Maybe the universe is perfect. Maybe nature is.
Compared to human timelines, nature seems perfect.
As long as we don't interfere even in our nature,
We come closer to the perfection we were designed for.

Maybe children are perfect, till school happens.
Maybe animals are perfect, as long as they are wild.
Maybe I am perfect, as a wild man. As a human.
Take me away from these imperfections. Let me be!
