They can be written
spoken, whispered,
hidden, forbidden,
remembered,
forgotten.
They have their power
to be listened to,
to be read,
to be reflected,
accepted
or rejected.
They can build,
and rebuild
They can destroy
They can comfort
and heal.
Words are the paints to a canvas of expression. The finish product can be so abstract, that it no single person see it the same way. Indeed it is a very well written and true poem.
"They can comfort and heal."…how wonderful! Thanks for sharing them! !
Thanks, Ernest, for your wonderful response. Keep on reading and keep on posting your poems. I hope I get more time to read more poems of my co-poets here. May New year give us all energy and inspiration to write verses which can inspire. Thanks a thousand times.

Yes, they are creative, edifying, if rightly used vice versa. Nice thought!
Yes, I do agree with you, Babatunde Aremu. Words can edify those who read. Let us continue to use words to inspire and edify us and others who read and hear our words.
Its like what A Tribe Called Quest said, the word is the herb deep as Bob Marley, so much can come out of words, the bad and the good, the power of the pen can be a great medicine, Words can unite us or conquer us, fantastic stuff.
Thanks for your beautiful response, Kevin. Yes, good words have power like medicine to an aching heart.

So very true, words power can do almost everything! Whether they are spoken words or written words; they've got power to do or to undo! Well done, Elizabeth!
