The Pendulum Poem by Dean Meredith

The Pendulum

Oh the great man made pendulum
How it swings long & slow & hard
In its triumphant arc above us all
From left to right and back again
From one ideal position to another
And back again retracing its path
Top to bottom to top and back
From high to low to high again
To low to high to low and back
It pivots from a single point above
A single seemingly unchanging point
The zenith above the sub-zeniths
The pendulum swings back and forth
Hypnotically to all below in shadow
Who dare look up in dizziness
And dare not stand from fear
But lay on backs eyes closed
Except for the occasional peek
Wondering what it is they see
And back and forth it goes
The great thing high and low
It climbs it stops it falls
And climbs again to fall
And so on and so forth
With ever changing speeds
Zero to fast & back again
And will it ever end
Who knows who cares
And will it
Ever know
Or care
Or go
Or?

Great the expressions and I think it can be defined as time or life itself.

Who dare look up in dizziness And dare not stand from fear But lay on backs eyes closed Except for the occasional peek Wondering what it is they see beautiful lines with hidden meanings, nice works, thanks
