The Money Tree Poem by Jonathan Goldman a.k.a JGthepoet

The Money Tree

I wander down the country lanes,
And through the woods and glades,
Searching here for things anew,
Amongst sunshine and the shades.

What do I seek for today?
And why do I wander so,
‘Tis a Money Tree that I do seek,
To make my fortune grow.

They Do exist, so I’m told,
If I wish and pray for them,
They will appear, ~ hopefully soon,
When I least expect it ~ then.

The leaves they will be of Money Notes,
The Fruit of coins of gold,
Bespeckled with Diamond rain drops,
And with Jewels, ~ so I’m told.

When Fortune casts me to the floor,
No money coming in,
I can, at least, dream of that tree,
And let the Wind ~ blow my fortune in.

I gave you a ten just because your poem is a good affirmation. Your meter and rhyme were well written also.
