The Missing Persons Poem by desamangalam ramakrishnan

The Missing Persons

Gone where those people
who had been living here.
A terrible shock spreads
among the mob
Every face is locked down
doubting whether those people
might have fondled an anguish
for murder or suicide.

Some houses are closed
some others are widely opened
with nobody inside
and those abodes remain
as if forsaken attachments
and opened mouths of
brutal belief

It seemed to be hearing
the words of the dripping blood
of the wounded god:
"I am here inside your heart,
Gone where you
to which unkind darkness
by uprooting me".

In response to the bewailing
would they have uttered:
"Life is somewhere else
and our Light too."
