The Machine Poem by Poetry Falcon

The Machine

I've never done this before
Living a poem in present time
You just text you were on your away
I know you are coming
Not even this rain could deter you

I'm awaiting in anticipation
What exactly will you do?
Will you come over just to watch a movie
Like the first time?
Or will you come over like you sometimes do?

I never know what you will do
You're just so mysterious
I can't figure you out.
Sometimes I feel you avoid me
because it's just not the time
Sometimes I feel you avoid me
because I'm not beautiful enough for you

My mind literally just drifted
Daydreaming on this rainy evening
Of what could possible ensue

Well, the first guess was correct
Movie time it was
Conversations about Greek mythology
Roman mythology, even astrology
Everything but anatomy

I know the latter in inevitable
I can sense the feeling is mutual
The way you look at me
Your gratitude for my thoughtfulness
Your face is so adorable
Overwhelmed by it all
You've said it several times now
No one has ever done so much for you before

That hug from behind, that tight squeeze
You smelled my hair
Left me wanting more
I'll be sitting here so patiently waiting
For you to let me spoil you
For you to make me yours
My nickname for you: the machine
