The Light Of Asia By Sir Edwin Arnold Poem by Bijay Kant Dubey

The Light Of Asia By Sir Edwin Arnold

Still it charms us
In a captivating language
With its poetic narration
Of Suddhodana, Sidhartha and Yasodhara.

A palace lonely and deserted,
Yasodhara wilting and broken,
With a searching eye
Waiting for the news to come
From far and wide

Ever watchful, ever waiting,
For the newsbreak
Or the message to have been
Sent across with.

And after Nirvana, one with Silence
The saga comes to an end
Seeking pardon for lapses
Whatever be it on his part
For errors and omissions.

The author concludes with prayer
To Lamp of Law,
Taking refuge in Law of Good,
In his Order, in Om,
Om mani padme hum.

The Dew on the lotus
Waiting for the Sunrise
And he praying to lift his leaf to mix
With the wave
And the Dewdrop too mingling with the shining Sea.
