The Last Time Poem by michael Smajda

The Last Time

Rating: 5.0

The last time I kissed my husband
I shall never forget the day
And told him how much I would miss him
Was when the war took my husband away.
He left behind four children.
He left behind his loving wife.
He left me with the burden
Of living a widowed life.
All because a lurking tyrant
Wanted to rule the world someday.
The last time I saw my husband
Was when the war took my husband away.
