The Great Leveller Poem by Sofia Kioroglou

The Great Leveller

Rating: 5.0

No shock, no engulfment...
Just the natural corollary to physical birth.
Death is standing on your porch screaming out
and beckoning you to come downstairs.

Unbudgeable and unbribeable.
The eternal, unbiased judge
is holding the Book of Life,
Your name no longer written in it.

The great leveller not paid for favors
is riding triumphantly his chariot
The dead, the great and small
now standing before the Throne.

A very powerful write, Sofia. We need to remember that death is a daily possibility and therefore we should enjoy every moment and make it a moment we are proud to have lived. 10

Yes the great leveler makes no favors. We simply have to abide with his absolute authority. Your poem is a beautiful sober reminder of its supremacy. Thank you for sharing.

The great symbols and their symbolism of mythologies serve beautifully the target of the poetry and move us here by their iconography to feel the dot of human being in the university arround.

The leveler awaits us all, turning us to dust and erasing us from time. Nicely written, Sofia
