The Future Looms Poem by Gerald Opio

The Future Looms

Rating: 5.0

As I stride along the lithosphere of the earth, I trode my path with my pride.
Every second, every minute, every hour and every day is a future that looms.
But my stance I grip on, that whatever the future has in stock for me, ready I'm.
Time keeps on ticking, the future waits for no one.
No need for complacency, inconsistency uncalled for because the future hosts no extemporaneous people.
Future, one thing you can't escape from.
It's there with you at dawn, at noon, dusk and at midnight.
What you do or don't do now evenes in you future either as consequential or influential.
Build your future now, today because tomorrow is promised to no one. The future starts today, where you're sitting, standing, sleeping or walking.
