The First Morning After Curfew Lockdown-3

Poem by Sylvia Frances Chan (Netherlands)

the first morning after curfew in our country

I never expected
that the Dutch youth gather in large numbers
to make noise and defy the police

the most beautiful part of the city center
where the piano is in the train station,
all just destroyed
deprived the shops of drinks and cigarettes

this is the result of the great tolerance of the dutch state

the first morning after curfew
incendiary bombs on cars and town-centers

they have been breeding themselves on social media

they know that the police will not shoot or hit
but they beat up a police horse,
the sweet horse immediately fell dead
and the policeman seriously injured

Almost all shops destroyed and looted

I have no words for it
As Mrs. Kadijah has said:
this is not the Netherlands that the world knows about us,
the video images have already circulated around the world

Mrs. Kadijah is Speaker of our Parliament said also:
the world has never known us like this

Many people (many are about 20 years and also older men aged 50-60)
will be put behind bars, because this is really impossible.

They also have to pay for the substantial damage, which amounts to millions Euro
