The Dance Will End Poem by Dr John Celes

The Dance Will End

The dance is on
By ladies, lords;
The hall is great
With painted walls;
Music is on,
And soothes all minds;
The pomp and show,
Glitters with gold.

This is the world,
Some lucky have;
Why they are blessed?
God alone knows.
Alas! Things end.
Both good and bad;
Yet, no one cares
About the rest.

The larger world
That stays outside
Is filled with strife
And clouds of gloom.
The rich stay rich;
Poor always poor;
A world unfair
Is what we see.

But God sees all;
He discerns hearts;
He's just and fair,
Patient and calm.
The righteous win;
The sad ones smile;
God's judgment makes
Humans alike!
