The Brave Still Bleed Poem by andrue finley

The Brave Still Bleed

The brave still bleed

Golden rumors and solid armor surrounds them.

These bold individuals, the ones that are braver than most and proud

almost untouchable as things that devastate everyone else seems to make them laugh

Follow behind them because no one else stands in the front but them

If you believe enough you can see them glow.

The heroes
We want to be them

Not everything is true
All the silver and gold is made up values and added weight.

Bold isn't the word I would give myself seeing how it's mainly anger and frustration focused in a direction and managed. you can only say no for so long until your done saying no.

So I stand to fight, and maybe I am proud but all it takes is one move after the other to see that sooner or later I'm up at the front, fearlessly alone. But am I

They all follow but they seem to see me as more than just another person just like they are. I can still be harmed. But I stand in front of the way shrouded by darkness to touch the light first.

The survivor
I want to just be

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Thee is lovers and fighters. But more than often we seem to forget or chose to not see those standing before us. As amazing as they are they are truly alive even with a large crowd behind them. But just because that may be true, that doesn't mean that they want to do it. Sometimes they just realize how much they mean, sometimes it's not wanted. That is me
