The Alzheimer's Infancy Poem by Kesav Venkat Easwaran

The Alzheimer's Infancy

Rating: 5.0

Dusk time lazy late hours
A prominent three-fourth moon
I notice him come inside
From my front room window side

He opens my house compound gate
Moves few steps towards in
Then turns back, walks, gets to the gate
Shuts it promptly as he leaves...

A gentleman aged eighty-three
One among my neighbors he
An esteemed person dignified
A rich man, high society

A rise would meet a fall indeed
A fall that comes gradually
Old age random discrepancies
The Alzheimer's infancy

Slight loss of memory make old persons behave like kids. Thanks Edward for your insightful feedback
