Temptations From The Past Poem by Qiniso Mogale

Temptations From The Past

Love that didn't die is dangerous
Love that is supposed to be dead is
dangerous
It resurfaces when it's not supposed to
The heart easily welcomes such love
The mind rejects such love
The mind knows better
The mind weighs the consequences
The heart thinks only of it's feelings
These are temptations from the past.

The devil is always ready to use such love
He capitalises on the weakness of the heart
During such times follow the mind instead
of the heart
Follow reason instead of emotion
Then you shall be safe
Then you shall be delivered from temptations from the past
Yes, you shall be delivered from temptations from the past.
