Sweet Reminiscence Poem by Kwai Chee Low

Sweet Reminiscence

The village sleeps with the night void of a single star
Hauntingly the sound of ships’ horns resonates from afar
As waves lap endlessly against the shoreline
A strong breeze blows, bringing up the brine

Sitting at the pier reminiscing scenes I can never forget
Seagulls and fishing boats silhouetted in the sunset
Above an early moon hurries the sun to retire
As colored clouds set the sky afire

Time always seems to slow down
As the horizon greets the setting sun
Soon dusk will pervade the night
And the sea adorns with silvery moonlight
