Sun Poem by Christina Simmons

Sun

Rating: 3.8

Feel the friendly gaze of the sun
On my back, shoulders and face
Rejuvenating my body deliciously so good
Putting A smile on my lips

Aware with me is a shining bright star - no other
foreign entity evading my psyche - a solar sphere
Fiery red a danger to the soul

Knowing as long as there remains
A distance I'll be safe
The sunny gaze makes me jump and skip a beat
Makes me want to do exciting things
Go wild under its shadows - remained aware it'll go down

Whereupon brings joy to my heart
Refining my shade into a colour
Of deeper brown; so warm and friendly
So happy and energised - having zest for life

For no one can make me feel the way
it makes me feel...so much power over me
Alas! Sadness! In disrepair! Smile has gone

For I know the rain will come soon
So too does the sun need a break
Until next time just keep hope alive

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem tells the joys I felt when the love of my life was around. And what it was like to lose my soul mate. My childhood sweetheart. Although it's written in the context of the sun. It's really about my other half.
