Suitcase Poem by Simone Harriman

Suitcase

Casting off skins of you
Shedding those reptile thoughts of you
As your lust glides
Towards her
Slippery you slide
From your snakeskin case
With tight-lipped straps
Those empty rinds
Of white serpents
Venomously squeeze
The threads of you
Like the coiled arterial ones
Crawling around my heart
Squeezing and poisoning
Parts of me
