'Success' Sought For Time Served: A Tip For Antiquarians Poem by Bryan Taplits

'Success' Sought For Time Served: A Tip For Antiquarians

Revivify the good memories
Is what the penultimate chapter is all about,
Retreating from one's bad memories
Whenever one's in doubt.
For when age bites fierce,
And the pit-bull won't let go,
The times of youth-when all was more loose-
Brings comfort-when one's engine starts to chug slow.
Yes, discarding memories hurtful
That you no longer wish to see
Is like putting a tourniquet on past hurts-
For at this late stage-
you can afford no longer to bleed.
Recall the best of the best-not memes best forgot-
In this new age of no reprieve,
Try to remember the good; and blot out all the soot-
This is the way for antiquarians to succeed!
